BE AWARE of non-NHS repeat prescription services

We are aware that repeat prescription services that are not legitimate NHS services are currently being advertised. Be cautious if an individual offers to pick up your prescription for you at a cost.

Anyone signing up to this service should be aware that it is not endorsed by, or aligned to any NHS organisation. Patients will be signing up to a private contractual agreement between themselves and the individual providing the service. We would strongly advise any patient thinking of signing up to this service to ensure that they consider whether it complies with data protection act (DPA) and general data protection regulations (GDPR)  in relation to how their information will be stored and processed.

Any advertisement for a legitimate NHS service offering repeat prescription service will display the NHS logo and the contact details of the organisation(s) providing this.  If you have any questions or concerns about a service that you have seen advertised in your local area, please check with us.

Our receptionists are here to help you get to the right service. Please don't be offended if they ask what the problem is when you call to make an appointment. The receptionist might suggest other professionals that could help you such as: Opticians, Pharmacist, Nurse, Family Services or Support Groups. Thank you for your co-operation with this.

Practice Area

The practice Area covers 250 sq miles. The village of Middleton in Teesdale is 10 miles NW from Barnard Castle and 25 miles from Scotch Corner and the A1.

Our practice area includes the following villages as well as Middleton in Teesdale:

  • Forest in Teesdale
  • Newbiggin
  • Eggleston
  • Lartington
  • Cotherstone
  • Romaldkirk
  • Lunedale
  • Holwick
  • Mickleton
  • Baldersdale

We accept patients within these areas. We do not normally accept patients who live outside these boundaries. Patients who are already registered with us but move outside the practice boundaries would be encouraged to register with their local practice, but if there are extenuating circumstances, please contact the practice manager if they wish to remain registered.
