Our receptionists are here to help you get to the right service. Please don't be offended if they ask what the problem is when you call to make an appointment. The receptionist might suggest other professionals that could help you such as: Opticians, Pharmacist, Nurse, Family Services or Support Groups. Thank you for your co-operation with this.
In addition to GP consultations the practice offers a wide range of special clinics and healthcare services:
Our nurses hold regular reviews for patients with long term conditions such as
A full range of family planning , HRT and sexual health services are also available from the nurse.
Dr MacConachie works with the health visitor to provide child health development checks. All children under school age have regular reviews with the healthvisiting team. They will invite you to attend one of the scheduled clinics for child development checks and immunisations.
A full range of services including family planning and smears, are available, provided by either a doctor or nurse.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
We offer NHS FREE TRAVEL VACCINES. These include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus and Cholera.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
